Release Notes: Version v0.2.0
extension LatestMay 26, 2026
Highlights
Free weekly Premium trial lets everyone try the full feature set without signup, and a true always-on-top Document Picture-in-Picture window now ships with a default Alt+Shift+P (Cmd+Shift+P on macOS) shortcut.
New
- Free weekly Premium trial — 5 hours of playback and 3 exports per week, resets every Monday. No signup, no card. Visual sparkles across the UI show what you're using on trial vs. what's locked, with a live "back in 3d 4h" countdown when the trial runs out.
- Document Picture-in-Picture — open a real floating, always-on-top player with Alt+Shift+P (Cmd+Shift+P on macOS). Falls back to a regular popup window when the active tab can't host PiP (chrome:// pages, etc.).
- Last-played radio station persists across sessions, and the Now Playing card shows a sensible default station on first launch instead of "Select a station."
- Lo-Fi Cover mode and a richer generator are now available in Upload, with free-tier gating across the catalog.
- Free radio tier expanded to 9 stations.
Improvements
- Trial-aware paywall copy in Settings — clear framing on what the trial unlocks and when it resets. New Manage link goes straight to the customer portal.
- Audio fades gracefully when the trial runs out mid-listening, instead of cutting to silence.
- Manage Plan in Settings opens a personalized customer-portal session for your account.
- License validation errors now report what specifically went wrong (missing configuration, invalid key, server error) instead of always saying "Invalid license key."
- Packs subview in Upload mode, alongside Quick FX and Lo-Fi Cover.
- Tighter spacing on the Now Playing, Radio, and Visualizer cards; visualizer canvas slightly taller so it matches the Now Playing card height.
- Saved-preset empty state and long station names lay out cleanly with the rest of the row.
Fixes
- Tab audio metadata populates immediately when you open the popup against an already-paused tab (was showing empty defaults).
- Upload preview audio plays again — Quick FX and Lo-Fi Cover preview was silent due to a binary-buffer serialization issue between the popup and the offscreen document.
- Audio volume restores after fade-out — previously a sleep-timer or trial-exhaustion fade could leave the next playback silent until you restarted the browser.
- Popup layout is more stable — locked to a fixed size so overlays can't shrink it, and no layout shift when scrollbars appear.
